2nd Central American and Caribbean School Games


 
The 2nd Central American and Caribbean School Games (JEDECAC / 20th – 28th October 2009) at Puebla, Mexico were opened by the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon in a extraordinary extravaganza Opening Ceremony.

The ISF EC granted its aegis to the organization as they did in 2007 for the 1st edition in Puerto Rico. Freddie Sanchez Guardiola from Puerto Rico was designated as official international observer by the ISF President, Jean Louis Boujon.

JEDECAC 2009 has 13 countries participating in 21 sports disciplines (Chess, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Football, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Wrestling, Karate Do, Swimming, Roller Skating, Tennis, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Fencing, Handball, Weight Lifting , Archery). Around 2,800 people are officially in Puebla for these games including more than 2,600 students athletes.

ISF Mexico General Director, Jose Carlos Velazquez, ISF Continental Vice President for America, Freddie Sanchez Guardiola, Secretary of Sports of the City of Juiz de Fora, Heglison Toledo and ISF Assessor and Secretary General Of CBDE, Robson Aguiar presented to all the Ministers of the Participants countries (Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela) in occasion of the General Assembly of CONCECADE the ISF events and philosophy as well the 1st edition of the Panamerican School Games to be held in Juiz de Fora, Brazil from June 12-19, 2010.
